Danville and River View pushed each other through a tight, high‑energy nonconference girls varsity matchup Saturday, and the Lady Devils emerged with a 66–62 overtime win.
The game took place Feb. 7, 2026, at River View High School in Warsaw.
Danville opened slowly, trailing 9–6 after the first quarter, but the Lady Devils found their rhythm in the second. They outscored the Black Bears 13–9 to take a narrow one‑point lead into halftime, showing the poise that would carry them the rest of the night. River View responded with its strongest stretch in the third quarter, putting up 23 points and briefly seizing control. Danville refused to fade, answering with a determined 20‑point fourth quarter that forced overtime.
In the extra period, the Lady Devils dictated the pace, outscoring River View 8–4 and closing out a hard‑earned road victory. Their late composure, steady scoring, and ability to respond under pressure ultimately separated them from a River View team that battled to the final seconds.
The Lady Devils will face Millersport in a girls varsity basketball matchup Saturday, Feb. 21, at 4 p.m.
This marks the first meeting between Danville’s girls squad and the Millersport Lakers, setting the stage for a new chapter in the rivalry. While the Blue Devils boys team defeated Millersport 69–55 in a nonconference road game on Dec. 27, 2025, the Lady Devils now get their own chance to take the court against the Lakers.
