YMCA volleyball clinics with Coach Matia are back this March, offering young athletes in grades 3 through 7 the chance to build skills, confidence, and teamwork.
The clinics will be held on Mondays, March 2, 9, 16, and 23, at the YMCA, with sessions tailored to different age groups.
Beginner clinics for grades 3–5 run from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., while Next Level clinics for grades 6–7 follow from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. The cost is $60 for YMCA members and $90 for non-members. Registration is open now by phone at 740-392-9622 or online at https://bit.ly/ymcavballclinic.
YMCA of Mount Vernon emphasizes that the clinics are designed for both newcomers and experienced players, focusing on fundamentals, teamwork, and fun in a supportive environment.
Private volleyball lessons are also available through Youth Program Coordinator Morgan Roberts. Rates are $140 for four lessons or $35 for a single session.
The YMCA encourages families to register early to secure spots, noting that the clinics provide a valuable opportunity for young athletes to grow their skills while enjoying the game.
Beyond volleyball, the YMCA of Mount Vernon offers a wide range of family programs. Aquatic activities include swimming lessons for children and adults, as well as family swim times. Youth sports such as basketball, soccer, and gymnastics give kids additional opportunities to learn and compete. Parents benefit from childcare services, including year-round care and before- and after-school programs.
Adults can join fitness and wellness programs, from group exercise classes to Silver Sneakers sessions, with 24/7 fitness center access available for members 18 and older.
The facility features a gymnasium, youth gym, racquetball and handball courts, sauna, whirlpool, and multipurpose rooms, many of which can be rented for family gatherings or community events.
