Families are invited to take part in a hands-on educational event focused on owls during the upcoming Family Nature Quest, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 7, at 10:30 a.m.

The program will be held at the Brown Family Environmental Center.

The one‑hour program will highlight the fascinating traits that set owls apart, from their remarkable neck flexibility to their signature calls and nighttime activity. Participants can also dissect owl pellets to uncover clues about the birds’ diets and hunting patterns. A variety of owl‑themed activities will round out the experience, offering something for both children and adults.

The program is designed to spark curiosity about native wildlife and promote environmental education through interactive experiences. The Family Nature Quest series regularly features seasonal topics and encourages families to explore nature together in a welcoming, educational setting.

The Resource Center serves as a hub for environmental programming in the region, offering workshops, nature walks, and educational events throughout the year. The owl-focused session is part of a broader effort to connect local families with wildlife and conservation topics.
