The Utica boys basketball team secured a decisive 75-49 victory against East Knox. The game was held at Utica High School on December 30.
According to the game's records, Utica's defense was formidable from the outset, allowing only nine points in the first quarter and eight in the second. While their defense stood strong, it was the Redskins' offense that truly shone. In the first half, they amassed thirty-six points, with twenty scored in the opening frame. Seniors Hunter McKinney and Zander Davis led the charge in the first quarter, while Nate Hite contributed eight points in the second.
In the latter half of the game, East Knox managed to score twenty-three points compared to Utica’s thirty-nine, ensuring a comfortable win for the home team. McKinney emerged as the leading scorer with twenty-one points, including nine in the fourth quarter. Davis also delivered an impressive performance with seventeen points. For East Knox, Peyton Hull was the top scorer with fourteen points, followed closely by Kyson Miller with twelve.
Utica is set to face Lakewood on January 10 at Utica High School.
