The Fredericktown Local School District has announced a food distribution event for eligible families. This will take place at Habitat for Humanity, located at 405 W. Chestnut Street in Mount Vernon, on Saturday from 10 AM to 12 PM.
Amid concerns about the ongoing government shutdown and potential suspension of SNAP benefits, the district aims to provide support to local families facing challenges. The district has also made available various community resources on its website for those in need.
For additional assistance or inquiries, residents can contact Student Support Services at Fredericktown Schools. Guidance counselors Karen Barta and Melissa White, along with social workers Hannah Art and Cindy Truex, are available to help with questions related to community meals, counseling agency referrals, housing information, and food outreach.
