Knox County Head Start Inc. has announced its sponsorship of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), funded by the USDA. The program provides meals to children and adults at various centers in Ohio, including Danville Legion Head Start Center, Fredericktown Head Start & Childcare Center, Gambier Child Care Center, New Hope Early Education Center, and Northgate Center.

In compliance with federal civil rights law and USDA regulations, the program prohibits discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, age, marital status, family/parental status, income from public assistance programs, political beliefs, or retaliation for prior civil rights activity. Remedies and complaint filing deadlines differ by program or incident.

For those needing alternative communication methods for program information due to disabilities—such as Braille or American Sign Language—the state or local agency administering the program can be contacted. Additionally, information may be available in languages other than English.

To file a discrimination complaint regarding the program, individuals can complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form online or contact USDA directly via mail at their Washington D.C. office or through email at program.intake@usda.gov.

For a household size of one person earning up to $20,345 annually qualifies for free meals; those earning up to $28,953 qualify for reduced-price meals.
