Danville High School's volleyball team secured a 3-1 victory against Cardington on Tuesday night, leveraging a balanced offensive strategy and record-setting serving to achieve the win at home.
According to the team's performance, Kenzi Staats was instrumental in the victory, delivering 32 aces and breaking her own school record. Zoey Neitzelt contributed with 11 kills and three blocks, while Kayley Sheldon and Taylor Miller each added five aces. Collectively, Danville recorded 40 kills, 18 aces, 37 assists, and 36 digs.
Head coach Morgan Spitler highlighted the importance of every player on the roster. "Every win we earn isn’t about one standout player, or even just the six on the court—it’s about all 12 on our roster," Spitler said. She emphasized that each player contributes to the team's success and expressed confidence in making strategic substitutions because she trusts every player to add value during matches. "When we play as a united team—when all 12 of us are locked in—we win. Together."
The victory represents progress for Danville as they focus on trust and teamwork in their early season games. The Blue Devils are scheduled to face Centerburg in their next match on Thursday, September 4.
