Effective this school year, Fredericktown Elementary implements two key changes for students and families.

To enhance safety and efficiency, a new pick-up and drop-off procedure has been released.

"Our Safety Team is making these changes to address student safety," an August newsletter reads. "We have made observations, had discussions and worked with emergency management and visited other schools to see how we could increase student safety."

Students can only be dropped off at designated areas. Six cones will be placed to identify these locations. Parents and guardians should ensure that their children safely exit the vehicle at the side of the sidewalk. It is also important to drive slowly as their vehicles exit the loop. After school, families can only pick up their kids at an assigned cone. Children can only enter their vehicles on the sidewalk side of the pick-up loop.

Another latest implementation is the Fredericktown Schools Cellphone Policy. Students may only use their phones outside of the prohibited hours. K-5 students can not use their phones from 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. During these hours, the phones should be turned off and kept in the school bags or school-assigned lockers.

Principal Gina Sackman welcomes families and students to the 2025-2026 school year.
