The Fredericktown High School boys varsity track team concluded a successful 2025 season, characterized by consistent top finishes and record-setting performances, according to coach Will Hartley.
The Freddies achieved top-three placements at every invitational meet this year, securing victories in two events and earning third place at the Knox Morrow Athletic Conference (KMAC) meet. The team qualified two relay squads and standout senior Brandon Hogg for the Division II Regional meet at Lexington last week. Hogg set a new school record in the pole vault with a height of 14 feet, 8 inches and is the only Freddie advancing to the state meet this Friday.
Hartley emphasized the team's depth as their biggest strength, stating, "We had strong athletes across most events, allowing us to field solid relay teams."
Other senior leaders included Noah Smith and Aiden McManis, who contributed significantly in distance races and the 4x400-meter and 4x800-meter relays. The 4x800 relay team finished seventh at regionals. Sophomore hurdler Cooper Rine also had an impressive season, while the 4x200 relay team consisting of Elijah Roush, Gavin Toombs, Tanner Estep, and Blake Sipes set a school record at regionals with a time of 1:31.71.
Hartley commended the team culture and leadership from a senior class of 11 athletes. He noted that the program aims to continue growing across all events. Looking forward, Fredericktown hopes for a complete stadium renovation, including a new track, within the next five years.
