Mount Vernon Nazarene University prepares for NAIA outdoor track nationals

The Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) men's and women's track and field teams are preparing to compete in the 2025 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships. The event will be hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University from May 21 to May 23.

Eight student-athletes from MVNU have qualified for the national competition. Evan Hodkinson will participate in the 1500m preliminaries on May 21 at 4:10 pm, with finals scheduled for May 23 at 2:10 pm. He is seeded 11th with a B Standard time of 3:50.14.

Bryce Wiles is set to run in the 200m preliminaries on May 21 at 5:35 pm, with finals on May 23 at 4:20 pm. He holds a seed of 30th with a B Standard time of 21.13 seconds.

The team comprising Simon Rohwer, Daron Porter, Hodkinson, and Ryan Lehman will compete in the 4x800m relay preliminaries on May 21 at 6:50 pm, with finals on May 22 at 6:30 pm. They are seeded in the 16th position with a B Standard time of 7:39.29.

Mason Hendrickson will take part in the 3000m Steeplechase on May 21 at 7:55 pm, with finals on May 23 at 1:20 pm. He is seeded eighth with an NAIA A Standard time of 9:14.38.

Hodkinson is also competing in the 800m preliminaries on May 22 at 2:50 pm, with finals on May 23 at 4:00 pm. His seed is tenth with an NAIA B Standard time of 1:50.58.

Wiles will also run in the preliminaries for the100m event on May22 at 3:40 pm,with finals on May 23 at 3:00 pm. His seed is 28th with an NAIA B Standard time of 10.43 seconds.

Tyler Shipley will compete in the Pole Vault Finals on May 23 at 1:00 pm. His seed is fourth with an NAIA A Standard vault of 5.04 m. Lyssi Snouffer will participate in the High Jump Finalson May 23 at 2:00 pm.She resides in third position with an NAIA A Standard jump of 1.76 m.
