The Danville Varsity Blue Devils secured a decisive victory in a Saturday doubleheader against Tuscarawas Central Catholic, achieving shutouts of 9-0 in Game 1 and 21-0 in Game 2.
In the first game, Addy Bocock excelled at the plate with a perfect 3-for-3 performance, including a double in the seventh inning and singles in the second and fourth innings. Alicia Humphrey delivered a standout performance on the mound, pitching a complete-game no-hitter with 11 strikeouts and two walks over seven innings. According to reports, Danville took an early lead in the second inning when Addison Mickley singled to drive in two runs. Mickley and Abi Sapp each contributed three RBIs, while Merista Brown added two hits from five at-bats. The Blue Devils amassed a total of 13 hits during the game.
Stella Everett was charged with the loss for Tuscarawas Central Catholic, conceding nine runs—four of which were earned—on 13 hits over seven innings. She recorded six strikeouts and two walks.
The second game saw Danville dominate from the outset, scoring 12 runs in the first inning. Humphrey continued her strong performance by going 4-for-4 at bat, hitting two doubles and two singles while driving in multiple runs. Ruby Bartok hit a two-run homer, while Taylor Meade and Mickley each tripled to bring in additional runs. The Blue Devils capitalized on several errors by Tuscarawas Central Catholic to establish a commanding lead. RBI singles from Humphrey and Maddy Payne extended their advantage to 14-0 by the second inning.
Bartok earned the win as pitcher, striking out seven without issuing any walks and allowing just one hit over three innings. Avri Bocock provided effective relief pitching for Danville with two scoreless innings, striking out four and walking one batter. In total, Danville recorded 22 hits during this victory. Bartok, Liz John, Mickley, Payne, Kenzi Staats, and Starr Hoar each had multiple hits. John also led defensively with 11 chances as Danville played error-free defense throughout.
Everett managed to secure Tuscarawas Central Catholic's lone hit during her two at-bats.
Danville is scheduled to return to action on Monday at home against Centerburg.
