As the baseball season nears, head coach Josh Moss is preparing his team for more than just wins. He prioritizes discipline, teamwork, and personal growth—values he believes define the sport.

“I love baseball, but more than that, I love helping these guys grow on and off the field,” Moss said. “The game teaches resilience, teamwork, and self-improvement.”

With a mix of experienced players and eager newcomers, Moss is excited about the team’s potential. “Every season presents challenges, but I’m excited to see our guys compete and surprise people,” he said.

Senior Daniel Lemaster, committed to Mount Union, is expected to play a major role. Last season, he posted a .429 batting average, 19 RBIs, 21 stolen bases, and a 2.07 ERA with 64 strikeouts over 47 innings. Other key players include senior catcher Mason Vallance (.305 AVG, 20 RBIs), junior outfielder Aiden Trobridge (.360 AVG, .515 OBP), junior utility player Vinny Morgan (.300 AVG, 15 stolen bases), and sophomore shortstop Ricky Faught (.460 AVG, 20 RBIs).

Moss is also keeping an eye on younger players competing for varsity spots. More than strategy, he views coaching as shaping well-rounded individuals. “Baseball teaches life lessons—overcoming adversity, working as a team, and staying disciplined,” he said.

This season, Moss emphasizes accountability and attention to detail. “We’re focusing on discipline, smart plays, and leadership,” he noted. A dedicated offseason in the weight room has strengthened both the team’s physical and mental toughness.

With talent and determination, Moss’s team is ready to make an impact this season.
