As the school year draws close, Mount Vernon High School is buzzing with excitement as it prepares for its latest yearbook.

Senior high parents are urged to provide pictures of their children as early as now.

“Senior parents - please submit your child’s senior photo for the yearbook to dcaldwell@mvcsd.us,” a Facebook post reads. “They are due April 1st.”

The message serves as a reminder for parents to take part in this important tradition and ensure their child's photo is featured in the yearbook. It is requested that high-quality photos in jpg format should be submitted to Mr. Dave Caldwell at dcaldwell@mvcsd.us.

“Pictures should not have any other people in them or have objects that take up space in the photo. We try to keep all the faces about the same sized,” the school’s announcement on its website stated.  “Please know that photos will not be Photoshopped but may be cropped to make them fit in the yearbook formatted pages.”

At 300 Yellow Jacket Drive, the school serves students in grades 9-12 and prides itself on capturing the spirit and memories of its students. The yearbook is an integral part of the school's tradition, celebrating milestones and creating a lasting keepsake for students and their families.

It has a rich history, with digital copies published on the school's website and 100 soft copies available, including historical editions like the 1906 "The High School Forum" and the 1921 yearbook. The latest copy available online is from 2023, showcasing the ongoing commitment to preserving the school's legacy.

The 2024-2025 school year ends during the last week of May according to the school's calendar
