Nancy Carol Harris, age 85, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, formerly of Georgetown, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at her residence. She was born on May 2, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Robert and Mary Lou (Robb) Eddy.
Nancy was an accomplished pianist, competing in national competitions and teaching the instrument she loved to hundreds of students over many decades. Her passion for music was a blessing to her family, whom she cherished deeply.
She devoted much of her life to serving her church, where she was director of music, organist, president of the women’s group, and a mentor to the congregation's young women.
Nancy also taught young children the joy of singing. Through her legacy of service, she demonstrated charity and unconditional love, leaving a lasting impact on her family and all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard V. Harris; children David (Dorothy), Daniel (Pam), Deborah (Moore), Anne (Paul Milani), Aaron, and Andrew (Jessica); twenty grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and her sister, Sue Hansen. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Roger Eddy.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1010 Beech Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050, with burial to follow at East View Cemetery in Centerburg, Ohio.
