The Community Band of Mount Vernon, Ohio delighted audiences with a festive Christmas concert at The Woodward Opera House on Thursday, December 19. The program included holiday sing-alongs and beloved traditional tunes such as "O Little Town of Bethlehem," themes from the Nutcracker, and "Sleigh Bells," among others. The event was free to the public, though donations were graciously accepted at the door.

The Community Band serves as a musical outlet for musicians of all ages across Knox, Licking, Morrow, and Richland Counties in Ohio. They provide a welcoming group where local musicians can come together to play and share their love of music.

The Woodward Opera House Conservancy, which organized the event, is dedicated to supporting the performing arts and preserving the heritage of Knox County. Their efforts began with the renovation and restoration of The Woodward Opera House, America's oldest authentic 19th-century theater still standing. The Conservancy continues to operate this historical venue, ensuring that it remains a vibrant part of the community's cultural landscape.
