The Fredericktown Freddies secured a decisive 69-28 victory over the Mount Gilead Indians in girls' basketball on Tuesday night.
Junior Ella Bouton led Fredericktown with 15 points, shooting 50 percent from the field (6-of-12). She also contributed seven assists and six defensive rebounds. Freshman Gracyn Toombs added 14 points, making an impressive 6-of-7 from the field. "We played really well as a team tonight," Bouton said. "Our defense was solid, and we were able to find open shots."
According to the game statistics, the Freddies (6-1) shot 53 percent from the field as a team, significantly surpassing Mount Gilead’s 21 percent (10-of-47). Fredericktown also excelled in three-point shooting, hitting nine of their 17 attempts. The Freddies out-rebounded the Indians 33-24, demonstrating their dominance on both ends of the court.
Mount Gilead (4-3) faced challenges offensively, managing only 28 points throughout the game.
The victory improved Fredericktown’s conference record to 4-1, positioning them favorably for the remainder of the season. The Freddies are set to continue their strong performance when they travel to Northmor to face the Golden Knights on December 20. Meanwhile, Mount Gilead will aim for recovery in their next game against East Knox on December 20.
