Koning earns first career defensive player of the week from Crossroads League

For the first time in his Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) men's basketball career, Trent Koning has been named the Crossroads League Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, Dec. 16.

Koning averaged four steals per game during the week in the team's games against Pacific Union and Cal Maritime. Against Cal Maritime, the junior from Cedarville, Ohio wreaked havoc on defense with six steals. Koning also provided on the other end of the floor, averaging 22 points per game on the week.

The Cougars wrap up their West Coast trip at Simpson University on Monday, Dec. 16.
