The Northridge girls basketball team earned its first victory of the season, defeating Highland 58-54 in their season opener on Friday.
The Vikings led from start to finish, starting with a 17-13 advantage in the first quarter and maintaining control throughout the game.
Ava Travis was the standout performer for Northridge, scoring an impressive 37 points on 50 percent shooting.
For Highland, the loss marked their second straight defeat, as they remain winless to start the season. Addie Mullins led the Fighting Scots with 14 points.
Northridge will look to build on the win in their next match-up, while Highland aims to bounce back and secure their first victory.
