Aidan Burke runs through the East Knox defense in last years game | CBUSS

The Danville Blue Devils will take on the East Knox Bulldogs on Friday in what is widely known as the biggest rivalry match-up in the Knox County area. The match-up has come to be known as the Devil-Dog game and is always up for grabs at the end of the season.

Danville will roll into the game following wins against Centerburg and Fredericktown. Their success has been driven by the efforts of wide receiver Cyren Wallace, who rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries against Fredericktown and quarterback Jacob Hackman, who rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries.

The Danville defense has been locked in all season and last week was led by middle linebacker Joshua Byers who was on fire as he made his way through to Fredericktown's quarterback and sacked him twice. Byers is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last 21 games dating back to almost 2 years ago now.

Meanwhile, East Knox was outmatched by Centerburg on the road and fell 40-6. They are on a season worst three game losing streak. Will that change this week?

Danville's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The game will take place in East Knox though, this Friday. As for East Knox, they now have a losing record at 4-5, and will hope to finish the season at an even 500.

Danville came out on top against East Knox last year, 14-12 in horrible weather conditions. Kickoff will take place at 7:00 p.m.
