The Kenyon College baseball team was recently honored by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) with the 2024 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award.

According to a release by the Kenyon College Athletics Department, the Owls were one of 182 NCAA Division III programs to be honored. There were 470 college programs across the nation who received the accolade. To receive the award, the team needs to have a head coach who is an ABCA member. They also need members on its 2024 roster to have a combined grade point average of 3.00 or more on a 4.00 scale. 

“The Owls had no problem reaching that mark, as the 42 members of the 2024 team posted a combined 3.46 grade point average to give the program its seventh consecutive ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award,” the release stated.

Kenyon College came off a solid season where they were one of four teams to make it to the North Coast Athletic Conference tournament. They went 22-17 and were 8-8 in NCAC play.
