For the first time ever, Centerburg baseball Coach Josh Moss was named the Knox Morrow Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.

Centerburg finished the season with a 14-9 record and were second in the conference at 9-3. The team had a first team All-Ohio selection in Grayson Reynolds; three first team All-KMAC selections with Reynolds, Daniel Lemaster and Ricky Faught; two second team All-KMAC selections in Jesse Rings and Ryder Scott; and an honorable mention All-KMAC with Mason Vallance. Rings was also All-District honorable mention.

Moss said that any time a coach is recognized goes directly back to how the players performed on the diamond. He said it means a lot for him that KMAC coaches saw how they played and recognized it.

“We talk a lot about playing the game the right way, respecting the game and our opponents and umpires,” he said. “I'm very appreciative of the recognition and very proud of where our program is right now.”

Moss said that Coach of the Year is a team effort, and that his players worked hard this offseason. They hit the weight room and the gym hard, and got prepared for the season properly.

“I feel very blessed to have quality assistant coaches in Scott Simmons and Brad Beeler,” Moss said. “I trust these guys to do their jobs and prepare our kids in their respective roles.”
