Northmor improved to 7-1 on the season with the Golden Knights finishing out last week with a pair of conference wins over Cardington-Lincoln.

The Northmor pitching staff has been on fire this season, no matter who takes the hill, and this time it was Trevor Brubaker’s turn to throw a gem as he shut out the Cardington-Lincoln Pirates 5-0 on April 10.
Isaac Black had a big day for the Golden Knights, as he was the leading run producer with a pair of RBIs. The senior was 2-for-3 in the win.
Northmor got on the board for all five of their runs in the bottom of the third inning. Grant Bentley led off the inning with a double to centerfield and then advanced to third on a Cole Cuffman bunt. Drew Hammond drove in Bentley on a sacrifice fly to make it a 1-0 game.
Cuffman followed with a steal of second, and then Garrett Harvey singled to left that sent Cuffman to third. Harvey stole second in the next at bat, and Ethan Hinton reached on a mishandled ground ball that knocked in Cuffman to go up 2-0.
Brubaker grounded out to short, knocking in Harvey to make it 3-0, and Hinton advanced to third base on the play. After a Bryce Cooper walk, Black drove in two runs on a single to centerfield to make it a 5-0 game.
Brubaker pitched a complete seven innings of shutout ball, while allowing only a walk and five hits, and striking out six batters. He also helped his own cause at the plate, going 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Bentley was 2-for-3 with a double, while scoring a run in the win for the Golden Knights. Cooper went 2-for-2 with a walk and a run scored. Harvey rounded out the hits, going 1-for-4 with a single.
Cardington-Lincoln was led by Merek McClure and Denton Garrison, who each doubled and went 1-for-3.
AJ Hall was handed a loss in a six inning complete came effort. He allowed five runs, but only one was earned, eight hits and two walks. Hall struck out six batters for the Pirates.
Northmor 10, Cardington-Lincoln 3
Northmor had a tight lead most of the game, but they had a huge six run sixth inning to run away with a 10-3 win over the Pirates on April 13.
Bentley pitched a complete seven innings in the win, allowing three runs but only one earned, two hits and a walk, while striking out eight batters.
Cuffman was the top player on offense for the Golden Knights, going 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBIs and a run scored. Hammond was 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a pair of runs scored. Brubaker was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a run. Nick Armrose had a double, going 1-for-4 on the day with a run and an RBI.
Cardington-Lincoln was led by Garrison, who was 2-for-3 with a double and a run. Hall and McClure both had RBIs for the Pirates.
Wade took the loss, but he didn’t get help from his defense as he allowed nine runs but only one earned in five and two-thirds innings. He gave up six hits and three walks, while striking out five batters.
