The Fabulous Fall Feast at Mount Vernon Nazarene University's The Barn set the stage for an enchanting evening before the Knox County Symphony Fall Concert. According to the Knox County Symphony, the event was "an encore of well orchestrated food." Under the skillful hands of Chef Stuart Washington, the dinner presentation unfolded like a symphony of tastes. Priced at $30 per person, the feast also contributed to the noble cause of supporting the Knox County Symphony.

The rustic charm of The Barn provided a perfect backdrop for the pre-concert event, with guests indulging in a bountiful menu that mirrored the richness of the upcoming musical performance. The diverse offerings included chicken breast in white wine butter sauce, roast beef tenderloin, vegan butternut squash risotto, and delightful sides.

The evening concluded with a choice of Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée or Triple Layer Chocolate Cake. Thirsts were quenched with a selection of beverages served to perfection. As the feast drew to a close, attendees, satisfied both gastronomically and philanthropically, embarked on a short Autumn walk to the R. R. Hodges Chapel/Auditorium for the Knox County Symphony Fall Concert.

The musical journey featured classical and contemporary pieces, including Julia Schwartz's "Lingua Franca," originally composed for an ensemble in Germany, emphasizing the universality of shared struggles and the need for encouragement. Ludwig van Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D Major, op. 61, was also performed. The evening culminated in a harmonious convergence of culinary and musical artistry, leaving guests with the promise of a relaxing night.
