Utica (6-3, 2-2) forced five turnovers in a shutout win over Johnstown Northridge (2-7, 1-3) on Friday night in a 20-0 victory.
Quarterback Hayden Piper had a six-yard touchdown pass to Anthony Roenker in the first quarter and it was a 6-0 lead at the half. Tyler Collura scored on a six-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter and then Piper capped off the scoring in the fourth with a nine-yard rushing touchdown.
Piper was 9-for-19 for 120 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He also had 14 carries for 54 yards and a touchdown. Tyler Collura ran four times for 13 yards and a touchdown. Justin Giffin had 15 rushing attempts for 43 yards. Hunter McKinney was the top receiver with five catches for 97 yards. Gavin Chinn caught two passes for 19 yards and Roenker had one catch for a six-yard touchdown.
Collura paced the defense with 12 tackles with one for a loss. Nick Drumm tallied nine tackles and one for a loss, and also recovered a fumble. Gavin Tussey also recovered a fumble in the win There were three picks in the game for the Redskins by Chase Bennett, Brandon Thornsberry and Grayson Tyo.
Utica plays the final game of the regular season on Friday at 7 p.m. against Lakewood at home.
