The Mount Vernon volleyball team (10-2, 6-1) has won four straight matches after blanking Madison Comprehensive (3-7, 2-4) on Monday in Ohio Cardinal Conference action.
The Yellow Jackets took a 25-19 win in set one and followed with wins of 25-18 and 25-22 in sets two and three. The win put Mount Vernon at second in the OCC behind undefeated Wooster.
Mount Vernon was led by Tori Burdette, who had 29 assists, five kills, and 13 digs in the match. Emma Dean recorded 11 kills and one ace. Audrey Stuller delivered on defense with 21 digs to go with an ace. Kaitlyn Thompson posted nine kills and four digs, while Jurnie Gleason put up 10 digs. Ady Beaver and Avery Lasater each added nine digs apiece.
Maddie Berry had 11 assists, seven kills, and 12 digs for Madison Comprehensive, while Cielo Jacobus and Addy Farris had six kills each. Jacobus had two aces, two blocks, and 14 digs. Olivia Barley had 12 digs in the match.
