Harold C. Bond Jr., 83, of Mount Vernon, OH, passed away Tuesday, September 12th, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Harold was born December 6th, 1939 in Mount Vernon, OH to Harold and Louise (Casper) Bond. He graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1958, and served 6 years in the Army both Active and Reserve. He married Marcia (Beckett) on September 7th, 1963 at the First Christian Church, Rev. Pumphrey officiated.

Later he worked for Continental Can for 40 years and retired as a Department Head. He was a Life Member of the Colonial City Moose Lodge #2555 for over 60 years where he was awarded the Pilgrim Degree at the House of God at Mooseheart and earned several prestigious awards such as Shining Star, Moose Legionnaire, Buckeye Award, and many others from the State, Local and International levels. He served as Administrator for Colonial City, volunteering for 16+ years. He has been an avid Cleveland Indians/Guardians Fan since he was 7 years old. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Vernon.

Harold will be deeply missed by his wife; children Michael Bond of Mount Vernon and Cherie (Matthew) Stinnett of Melbourne FL; step-grandchildren, Vincent and Nicolas Stinnett.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Cathie Bond, and sisters Betty Melick and Beverly Dunlap.

Friends may call Tuesday September 19th from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Mount Vernon Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Barton officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held.
