DANVILLE – Francis Marie Butts Smith, 92 1/2, of Millersburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2023, at Pomerene Hospital with sons and special family member Vanessa Tope. She was born Dec. 23, 1930, at Danville, the daughter of Purcell and Rosena Butts. She married Kenneth A. Smith on May 25, 1957. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister and four brothers.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in her memory to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Road, Wooster, 44691 or to Pomerene Health Foundation, ER Staff Med Surg (981 Wooster Road, Millersburg, OH 44654) staff for making her last days comfortable.

She was very active in St. Peter’s Catholic Church with many different events. She was a pillar of the church. She was a role model to numerous women at St. Peter’s Catholic Church.

She was a homemaker after her last son was born. She enjoyed making bread and pies and having her lady friends over for conversations.

Surviving are her three sons, K.Gregory Smith (Lynda L. Snyder) of Big Prairie; Jeff Smith of Dublin; and Doug of the Home.
