MOUNT VERNON – Virginia Stoutenburgh Holland, 93, passed away on May 30, 2023. She was born in Mount Vernon on Sept. 21, 1929, to the late Andrew and Anna Stoutenburgh.
Virginia was funny, witty and could always offer some good old-fashioned advice. She enjoyed red cardinals, butterflies and gardening – tending to her prize-winning roses – and always had some biscuits and apple butter ready for her guests.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Gilbert Fox and Vernon Holland; her children, Betty Fox, Doug “Lesley” Fox, Patricia Anderson and Jenny Ann Fox; and granddaughter Becky Anderson. She is survived by her sisters, Millie Sellers and Mary Lawrence; grandchildren, James Blaine (her favorite, who she helped raise) and Doña “Amy” Bird; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jeffery, Xavier, Alex, Aledia, Draven, John Lee and Joel; great-great-grandchildren, Lillian and Abigail; and extended family and friends.
Private inurnment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.
