The Monday Golf League at Apple Valley began as the Mount Vernon Business Men’s League more than 40 years ago and is still going strong. League play occurs at the Apple Valley Golf Course at 433 Clubhouse Drive in Howard and is presided over by James Long.

League play for 2023 started May 8, and in third-week action, some of the results are listed below. Ten golfers shot rounds of 45 or less.

Ed O’Connell (5 handicap) won first and second flight with a 44, Art Byall/Lou Pertos sub (handicap 10) won Front 9 with a 43, Andy Carroll birdied hole No. 2, and the Amen 789 went to Dick Van Horn.

New handicaps went to J.D. Davidson (9 handicap), Garrett Swendal (12 handicap), Geno Berry (10 handicap) and Barry Bowden (12 handicap).
