FREDERICKTOWN – Three Fredericktown High School FFA members will advance to the district FFA public speaking contest after participating in the recent county contest.
Raegan Blanchard swept first in her division of beginning prepared public speaking. She had to write a five-to-seven-minute speech of her choice and recite it to the judges. Reagan’s topic was the difference between Eastern and Western horse riding. She was graded on voice clarity, eye contact, time, and subject.
Chloe Wells placed second in the extemporaneous contest. She drew a topic given to her by the judges and had to create a four- to six-minute speech after 30 minutes to research her subject. She then had to recite her speech to the judges and answer questions about her topic.
Austin Frazier placed third in his division of the first-year creed speaking contest. This contest was for all ninth-grade members who recited the creed in their first year of FFA.
Fredericktown FFA Advisor is Debra Burden. FFA stands for Future Farmers of America.
