FORT MYERS, Fl. – Henry Anthony LaBrun (85), a resident of Fort Myers, Florida, died peacefully the morning of Feb. 17, 2023, following a recent illness.
Born in Menominee, Michigan to the late Henry and Leone LaBrun, he grew up in Neenah, Wisconsin. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the University of Michigan, he was employed by the former Cooper-Bessemer Corporation and its successors for his entire career. He held several sales and executive positions with the company, ultimately becoming president of Cooper Energy Services (then a division of Cooper Industries Inc. and later a division of Cooper Cameron Corporation). Moving with his family frequently during his working years, he called Mount Vernon, Ohio home several times before retiring to Florida. An avid golfer his entire life, he was an active member of the Colonial Country Club community in Fort Myers, including serving in many leadership roles on its boards and committees.
He is survived by his beloved wife of over 58 years, Judy, at home in Fort Myers, and the couple’s son, Henry, of Lake Wylie, South Carolina. Known fondly as Hank, his family and many friends will never forget his intelligence, humor, friendship and love.
Arrangements are by Baldwin Brothers Funeral and Cremation Society in Fort Myers. Online words of condolence may be left on Hank’s memorial page at BaldwinCremation.com.
In accordance with his previous request, instead of a formal funeral service, the family hosted a celebration of Hank’s life with friends on March 5, 2023, at the Colonial Country Club clubhouse in Fort Myers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests consideration of a donation in Hank's memory to your local hospice or to the Colonial Charitable Foundation, Inc., P. O. Box 60931, Fort Myers, Florida 33906; ColonialCharitable.org.
