Dickey earns Crossroads League Field Athlete of the Week

JACKSON, Mich. — After a strong outing at Tiffin University on Saturday, Feb. 11, shot putter Kyler Dickey of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University men’s track and field team was honored by the Crossroads League.

Dickey was named the Men’s Field Athlete of the Week after claiming third and hitting the NAIA “A” Standard in shot put with a toss of 16.40 meters. 

Dickey finished in third place and the Cougars placed well in the competition. 

Erich Rhodeback was dominant in the 60m hurdles, finishing in first with an NAIA “A” standard time of 8.22. Jaden Haldeman was close behind in second with a time of 8.43. Rhodeback claimed first in the 400m as well with a time of 50.29. Isaac Ramseyer took first place in the 1,000m with a time of 2:38.57. Liam Near claimed third in the 200m with a time of 22.50 and Chris Graber took second place in the long jump with a mark of 6.69 meters.

Dickey and the MVNU track and field team will be back in action on Feb.17-18 in the Crossroads League Indoor Championships, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana.
