MOUNT VERNON – Linda Jean (Mills) Carrier, 70, of Mount Vernon went to be with her Lord and Savior and her husband, Mac, on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023, in the home of her daughter while under hospice care in Shady Valley, Tennessee, after a long battle with kidney failure.
Linda was born Nov. 14, 1952, in Mount Vernon to Charles and Helen (Krempel) Mills.
Linda and Mac Carrier were married on May 15, 1980, and were married for 42 years. She was an LPN for over 30 years, graduating at the top of her class. She worked at many places, including County Court and the Mount Vernon Development Center. She loved to draw and read, and she loved horses and dogs.
Linda will be deeply missed by her daughter Lita (Jeff) Mowery of Tennessee; step-daughter Rachel (Gary) Stone of Danville; step-son Max Carrier of Brinkhaven; grandchildren, Mark (Madalyn) Mowery of Mansfield, Amanda Mowery of Loudenville, Matthew Mowery of Tennessee, Erin (Tim) Postle, Hollie (Nick) Hawk, Luke Stone; great-grandchildren Ellianna and Maddox Mowery, Jonaton, Jenna, Madelyn, Emma, Lauren, Garrett, Alena; her sister Sharon (Mike) Johnston of Virginia; her brother Charlie Mills of Mount Vernon; and many nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. A memorial service will be held later for both Linda and Mac Carrier at the Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Feb. 11, 2023, at 1 p.m., where Linda and Mac will be laid to rest together.
