The Galion Cross Country Festival at Amanns Park on Sept. 9 attracted more than 100 schools (high school and middle school) across multiple divisions.
Among the boys from local schools, Highland was fourth in DII with Joel Roberts placing ninth in a time of 17:34. Following close behind was freshman Cael Gilmore finishing in 17:57.
Saint Paul won the DIII event with Fredericktown placing second and Northmor finishing in third place. Centerburg was fifth among 22 schools in the competition.
Among the girls, Colonel Crawford won the DIII event with Fredericktown second. East Knox placed 15th. Highland placed 10th in DII.
Top local runners included Elsa Hoam, finishing in 11th place for the Freddies; Adrian Clutter, who finished 14th for EK; and Lauren Garber, who was 24th for Highland.
