BELLVILLE – Katie Rockwell, 85, of Bellville died July 15, 2022, at Knox Community Hospital.
The daughter of the late RD and Lucille (Alverson) Keeney, Katie was born Aug. 23, 1936, in Camp Wood, TX. She married Leslie Rockwell and he preceded her in death.
Katie was an LPN and worked for Knox Community Hospital and Dr. Cheryl Dezayas before retiring. She was a member for 50 years of the former Ankneytown Grace Brethren Church, where she served as a leader and taught Sunday School and various children’s after-school programs. She passionately enjoyed serving her church and working with children.
Katie will be remembered as a good and faithful servant of the Lord.
Katie is survived by her children Bill Rockwell, Susan (Vince) Feasel and Jim (Deb) Rockwell; grandchildren Rob (Liz) Rockwell; Mike Rockwell and Scott (Tiffany) Feasel; great-grandchildren Bradley Rockwell, Nathan Rockwell and Logan Feasel; three step-grandchildren, Brielle (Kendale) McFarland, Keaton Trusdle and Corbin (Christina) Trusdle; and three brothers, David (Anna) Keeney, Robert Keeney and Alvin Keeney.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters Joy Dossey and Mary Smith and her brother Travis Keeney.
The Rockwell family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at the Bellville Chapel Snyder Funeral Home. A funeral service celebrating Katie’s life will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday July 20, at Christ Fellowship of Knox County (formerly Ankneytown Grace Brethren Church), 20601 Old Mansfield Road, Bellville. Burial will follow in Owl Creek Cemetery, Bellville.
