MOUNT VERNON – Shirley Kaye Boyce, 75, of Mansfield passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022, at OhioHealth Riverside Hospital in Columbus.

She was born March 27, 1947, in Mount Vernon to the late Mary Elizabeth (Newman) and Oral Wesley Boyer. Shirley graduated from Mount Vernon High School and worked for 33 years at Twin Oak Living and Learning Center as a cook. She then continued her career at Oak Grove Manor, retiring in 2016. Shirley loved animals and being in nature and was very proud of her hometown, Mount Vernon. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Shirley is survived by two grandchildren, Cody Boyce and Cheyenne Sumler; a sister, Marcella (Jim) Price; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Lee Boyce; and daughter, Shelly Danette Boyce.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Monday, July 11, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Myers Cemetery, Shelby, Ohio.
