Local residents have until July 5 to register to vote in the Aug. 2 primary election for state legislative and party central committee races.

Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose’s Office announced that the election is under way with the shipment of hundreds of military and overseas ballots last week.

Early voting begins July 6, with the primary election day on Aug. 2.

Knox County voters will find these races on their Aug. 2 primary ballot: Ohio House of Representatives (District 61 or 98) & State Senate (District 19), and Democrat/Republican State Central Committee.

A copy of the August 2022 Ballot Proofs can be found on the Knox County Board of Elections website, boe.knoxcounty.oh.gov.

Residents can find their district through the Secretary of State’s Office website.

They can register through Ohio’s online voter registration system or use it to update their registration.

And they can sign up to be a poll worker through the website.
