60th annual Scholastic Achievement Awards sponsored by Mount Vernon Kiwanis

The Mount Vernon Kiwanis Club sponsored the 60th annual Scholastic Achievement Awards, which recognize excellence and academic achievement of students from Mount Vernon High School and Knox County Career Center. The ceremony took place May 5.

The club honored 120 students total, so including:

• the academic top 10% of high school juniors,
• the academic top 10% of high school seniors
• and the recipients of 100 specific awards

A certificate of merit will be presented to students in the top 10% of the junior and senior classes. In addition, a $50 cash award will be presented to select students in specific categories of achievement.
