BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men’s lacrosse team (7-3) scored early and often, and senior attacker Ian Ranck etched his name into the record book after surpassing 100 points for his career with a seven-point night March 26.
The Cougars put a school-record 28 goals into the net and gave up 11 to Eastern Nazarene University (0-6) as the teams combined to score 39 total goals.
In the battle of the Nazarenes, the Cougars saw two milestones fall on the night. MVNU set a new program record for goals scored in a game. MVNU had previously set the record with 24 goals against Cleary University on March 2. Milestone two was reached when Ranck scored six goals and added an assist on his historic night for MVNU, reaching and surpassing 100 points for his Cougar career.
In addition to Ranck's output, Jason LaAsmar stayed hot, scoring five more goals for the Cougars. Brett Townsend had a team-high nine points, finishing with four goals and five assists. Ryan LaAsmar added four goals, Kaden Tinner had three goals and three assists, while Gabe Wolf had two goals and three assists. Luke Modesto had two goals. Nathan Staley and Josh Beach each had one goal for MVNU.
