The 2025 Louie Mickley All-Star Blast Tournament commenced over the weekend at DARCI Field, showcasing two days of youth softball and local hospitality.
According to the event schedule, Saturday featured pool play games with local teams Danville 8U and Devil Dog 10U drawing significant attention. On Sunday, bracket play began at 10 a.m. for the 8U teams and at 3 p.m. for the 10U squads.
Fans were encouraged to arrive with an appetite as Danville Youth Softball provided a variety of food options at both recreational and varsity concession stands. The menu included biscuits and gravy, donut holes from Raber’s Country Bakery, Young’s Locker Dogs, Weaver’s soft pretzel sticks, sloppy joes, shredded chicken sandwiches, and loaded nachos.
To combat the summer heat, Brain Freezz Shaved Ice was available on-site offering refreshing icy treats. The community gathered to support the teams and enjoy the offerings as they celebrated youth softball in full swing.
