FREDERICKTOWN – The Fredericktown Senior Citizens met on Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the Fredericktown Municipal Building on the Square. There were 23 members present to enjoy a potluck luncheon.
At noon, we had a prayer by Linda Shira.
At 12:45 p.m., Margaret Ann Ruhl called the meeting to order.
Ruhl read the minutes of the last meeting. With some corrections to the minutes, the minutes were approved. No Treasurer’s report as Phyllis Shira was not present.
Sue James has the upcoming trips planned: April 15, trip to La Comedia Dinner Theater to see “Music Man.” May 18, the bus is going to Wheeling, West Va., for the day. June 1, the bus is heading to Cleveland for the Guardians (former Indians) to play against Kansas City. James is working on the rest of the summer trips and hopes to have them by the next meeting for everyone to sign-up.
Congratulations to Herb and Aileen Spearman for receiving the Dale Peterson Award for Fan of the Year at Fredericktown High School.
Birthdays to celebrate in the month of February are Sue James and Morris James. All sang“Happy Birthday” to Sue as Morris was not present. Anniversaries for February are Ann and Larry Ullman (56). No deaths were reported.
Members on the get-well list included Martha Blanchard, Ruth Douglas and Bailey Mast. Mast did have her baby and needs our continued prayers.
Ruhl did not get a speaker for this month, but members Ann Ullman, Linda Shiraand Pat Davis had readings for our entertainment.
Next meeting will be Wednesday, March 9, 2022, with all to bring a covered dish or two. Again,meeting at the Fredericktown Municipal Building at 11:45 a.m.
