DANVILLE – Carlton W. Simpson, 72, of Danville died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022. Carlton was born May 17, 1949, in Mount Vernon to Clifford and Myrl (Hines) Simpson, he graduated from Fredericktown High School in 1967, where he was a member of the Future Farmers of America.
Carlton had worked as a mechanic and wrecker operator for McFarland Brothers Trucking in Mount Vernon and farmed. In 1980, after becoming disabled, he taught in a Christian school for six years, then became actively involved in beekeeping. Carlton influenced many people to engage in beekeeping and was known as a friend to beekeepers.
He was a member of the Mount Vernon Baptist Temple and the Knox County and Ohio State Beekeepers associations.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Beverly (Sites) Simpson; and two sons, Anthony Simpson and Eric Simpson.
Friends may call at the Mount Vernon Baptist Temple, 21453 Floralwood Dr., Howard, OH 43028, on Monday, Jan. 10, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Tuesday, Jan. 11, from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m.
Pastor Joshua Lehman will officiate. Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
