MOUNT VERNON – Diana Kaye (Stricker) Bingham, 79, passed away on Friday, Oct. 15, 2021, with her loving family by her side. She was the sixth of seven children born to Sanford D. and Katherine Lucille (Mavis) Stricker, who preceded her in death.
Her greatest joys in life were her three children, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and the rest of her family.
She is survived by the loves of her life, her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Karen Minder of Florida, and her daughter and daughter-in-law, Kim Minder and Chris Payne of Mount Vernon.
Her beautiful grandchildren, Mason Mickley, Elizabeth (Ryan) Doyle, Brian Minder, Dayna Minder, Matt Patrick and Rachel (Josh Vernon) Patrick. Great-grandchildren, Nicholas, AJ, Jonathan, Trenton, Kameron and Parker.
She opened the Bingham Insurance Agency in 1990 and still "worked" there with her daughter, Kim, and grandson, Mason. She will best be remembered as a woman with incredible integrity and a wicked sense of humor, alongside an iron will and an even stronger heart.
She was a member of Xi Delta Nu chapter of Beta Sigma Phi for 38 years, forming a wonderful sisterhood and so many memories with Eileen Hartman, Reta Durham, Dee Allerding, Susan Rutter, Carolyn Jacquet and Judy, and her special friends Corinne Ott, Mona Wolford, Margaret Branstool and Elaine Ensign.
She is survived by her sisters, Naomi Mickley and Cheryl Laymon; loving nieces, Deb Hoar, Teri Sims, and Peg Hartesty; and nephews, Dave, Mike, Steve and Ronnie Stricker, Ken Belcher, Jason and Jon Laymon and their spouses.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her son, Donnie Minder; four brothers, Bob, Gail, Carl and Dwight Stricker; sisters-in-law, Helen and Nellie Stricker; nephews, Sandy and Richie Stricker; and niece, Patty Stricker.
The family will observe a private burial at Rich Hill Cemetery in Centerburg, where she will be buried next to her husband, Richard, and her son Don.
