COLUMBUS – On Tuesday, at 10 a.m., the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) will host a Topping Off ceremony for the new Twin Valley Behavioral Healthcare (TVBH) hospital.

The new 208-bed, 285,000 square-foot hospital scheduled to open in 2023 couldn't have a public groundbreaking due to the COVID-19 restrictions at the time. This is the first important milestone in its construction to be marked with an in-person event. The event will include multiple speakers and an opportunity for guests to sign a ceremonial support beam that will afterward be lowered into place by crane.

There will be signage in the parking lot of the existing hospital, also located at 2200 W. Broad St., directing attendees to the appropriate lot. Attendees will meet in the North Wing Conference Room of the existing hospital, wearing facemasks. Their temperatures will be taken upon entry.

Funding the $128 million facility was approved as part of the 2018 Capital Appropriations budget. TVBH serves Knox County, as well as Champaign, Crawford, Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Highland, Licking, Logan, Marion, Morrow, Pickaway, Pike, Ross and Union counties.
