Babe Ruth roundup: Awiller, KB Tire roll into title game

Top-seeded KB Tire took the lead with three runs in the third inning and held off fifth-seeded Rotary 14-8 on Thursday, at Memorial Park to advance to the championship game in the Knox County Babe Ruth League.

They will play the winner of third-seeded Key Reality and second-seeded Fredericktown Chevrolet, which was decided on Friday after press time.

Alex Awiller drove in three runs and added two hits to pace KB Tire. Mason Mitchell and Azland Morris each drove in a pair of runs and Jacob Derr added two hits.

Curtis Landis and Cohen Armstrong each drove in two runs to lead Rotary. Aric Lust added a triple and an RBI and Landis doubled.

Key Realty 13, Seavolts 1

Key Realty wasted no time, plating 10 runs in the first inning on its way to a 13-1 win over Seavolts in a quarterfinal on Tuesday at Memorial Park.

Lane Severns and Toby Burak each scored twice and drove in a pair of runs and Burak struck out four in a complete-game victory on the mound to lead Key Realty.

Cameron Hill had a hit and scored a run and Isaiah Columber struck out seven batters in relief for Seavolts.

Rotary 16, Kiwanis 4

Rotary jumped out to a big lead early, scoring 10 runs in the first inning on its way to a 16-4 win over Kiwanis on Monday at Memorial Park.

Aric Lust drove in five runs and Cohen Armstrong struck out five batters over four innings on the mound to lead Rotary.
