MOUNT VERNON – Jack L. Knight, 68, passed away on June 21, 2021, surrounded by God’s love and family and Mount Vernon Health and Rehab. He was born in Mount Vernon in February 1953, to Thomas A. and Vera Kathleen (Hennen) Knight.

Jack liked to bowl, dance, eat out, watch John Wayne movies, listen to Elvis music, and do his special impersonation of “The King.”  He also did a lot of traveling and vacationing with his sister, including cruises. He enjoyed being around people and being the center of attention. Jack was loved by his many friends and family and will be missed by all.

He is survived by his brothers, Thomas A. Knight (Nancy Diehl) of Fredericktown and John A. (Barb) Knight of Howard; his sister, Betty L. (Don) Wilson of Indialantic, Florida; his group home brothers, Merle, Jeff and Jim; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Lou (Danny) Hofstetter.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 25, at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Pastor David Havens will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. until service time.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org, or at 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
