MOUNT VERNON – Jason Dale Carrier, 44, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. He was born on Oct. 14, 1976, in Florence, South Carolina.
Jason graduated from Lejeune High School in 1995. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. In 2008, he graduated from the Ashland University College of Nursing. To further his education, Jason went back to college and earned a master’s degree in nurse anesthesia from Otterbein University in 2012. He was a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and the New Life Church of the Nazarene. Jason owned and operated Vapor Anesthesia, which supported Coshocton Regional Medical Center.
While you could frequently find him watching every Ohio State game, working (or hardly working) on a variety of cases in the OR, or enjoying the occasional Hallmark (or Barbie) movie, Jason’s heart was happiest when he was surrounded by his wife and all his kids. Nothing was more important than being with his family, whom he loved so much.
He is survived by his wife, JoLee (Simmons) Carrier, whom he married on Nov. 28, 2003; his children, Micayla (Zach) Zeltman of Columbus, Victoria (Zach) Eley of Columbus, Camden Carrier of Mount Vernon and Maecie Carrier of Mount Vernon; his parents, Jay and Pamela; siblings, Brandy (Johnny) Shuler, Kim (Marc) Sandy, Mindy Carrier and Heather (Lonnie) Sullivan; several nieces and nephews; and his best friend and co-worker, Roché Brown.
Jason was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, David Simmons.
