MOUNT VERNON – Latashia “Tosh” Nicole Shellenbarger, 31, of Mount Vernon, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 17, 2021. She was born on June 11, 1989, in Mount Vernon, to Byron Shellenbarger and Carolyn (Born) Cockrell.
Tosh attended Mount Vernon High School and also the Knox County Career Center. She completed the ROTC program and worked in both daycare and the service industry. Tosh loved hiking, swimming, listening to music and making jokes, but especially spending time with her children.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Skyla, Arabella and Landyn; her mother, Carolyn Cockrell; fiancé, Kevin Stander; brother, Tyler; sister, Nikki; and many extended family members.
Tosh was preceded in death by her father and her grandparents.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday at Roberts Funeral Home-Mount Vernon Chapel, Mount Vernon. A private burial will be in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
