MVGSL roundup: Lady Amvets 12U rallies for win over Straight A Signs

Lady Amvets rallied for three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to knock off Straight A Signs 8-7 in Mount Vernon Girls Softball League 12U play on Thursday, May 6, at Memorial Park.

Savannah Crawford struck out four batters in the circle; and Macy Costamire, Adriana Hitchcock and Kenlie Moore accounted for the three Lady Amvets hits.

Zoey Neitzelt had two hits including a triple, and Kenzie Staats had four strikeouts to pace Straight A Signs.

Straight A Signs 13, Griffith & Son Trucking 4

Straight A Signs exploded for nine runs in the fifth and final inning to beat Griffith & Son Trucking 13-4 on Saturday, May 8, at Memorial Park.

Kenzie Staats struck out 11 batters in the circle and added a home run at the plate. Elesa Ann Rainer and Ella Payne each had two hits including a double to lead Straight A Signs.

Harley Styndl homered and Addison Smith had two hits to lead Griffith & Son.

Wigal Orthodontics 15, Charlie’s Body Shop 14

Wigal Orthodontics put seven runs on the board in the top of the fourth inning before holding off Charlie’s Body Shop for a 15-14 victory on Saturday, May 8, at Memorial Park.

Haylee Hays crushed two home runs and Bella Hones had three hits to lead Wigal.

Imogen Winkler had three hits to pace Charlie’s.

Dan White State Farm 12, Danville Veterinary Clinic 6

Dan White State Farm scored six runs in the first inning and six more in the second before holding off Danville Veterinary Clinic 12-6 on Thursday, May 6, at Memorial Park.

Kinley Baker, Paisley Platt and Abigail Yocum had two hits each; and Emerson Creech struck out 10 batters to lead Dan White State Farm. Baker hit a home run, and Platt had a triple and a double.

Starr Hoar did it on both sides of the plate, with two hits — a triple and a double — and seven strikeouts in the circle.

Dan White State Farm 12, Real Living 0

Emerson Creech and Paisley Platt combined for a no-hitter in Dan White State Farm’s 12-0 win over Real Living on Saturday, May 8, at Memorial Park.

Creech had 10 strikeouts in the circle and added three hits at the dish. Kinley Baker also had three hits for Dan White. She had a home run and two doubles.

Overhead Door 9, Park National Bank 3

Kendall Melton and Mea Joyner combined for a no-hitter to lead Overhead Door in a 9-3 win over Park National Bank on Saturday, May 8, at Memorial Park.

Melton and Joyner had five strikeouts each, and Melton’s two hits at the plate led Overhead Door.

Morgan Hinkens had 10 strikeouts in the circle to pace Park National Bank.

Danville Veterinary Clinic 15, JB Painting 3

Danville Veterinary Clinic jumped out of the gate with seven runs in the first inning and rolled to a 15-3 win over JB Painting.

Merin Stone, Reese Lowe and Ellie Howard combined for the two-hitter, and Howard and Kylie Stephens each led with one hit for Danville Vet.

Payton Miller struck out eight batters in a two-hitter for JB Painting.

Jeld Wen 13, Prescription Turf Care 9

Jeld Wen scored five runs in the fourth inning to put the game out of reach in a 13-9 win over Prescription Turf Care on Thursday, May 6, at Memorial Park.

Kaylin Peck, Jaylyn Riley, Emma Woods, Evie McCann, Makenna Waters and Jordyn Plumly each had three hits to lead Jeld Wen, which pounded out 23 hits as a team. Peck hit a home run and Woods had two doubles.

Morgan Tocheff and Alexis Horlacher had three hits each for Prescription Turf Care, which belted 17 hits as a team. Horlacher hit a home run.

Prescription Turf Care 8, Central Ohio Pressure Wash 0

Prescription Turf Care took the lead with a run in the first inning, then created distance with four more in the second and cruised to an 8-0 win over Central Ohio Pressure Wash on Saturday, May 8, at Memorial Park.

Morgan Tocheff had four hits and Brindlee Abbruzzese had three hits — all doubles — to pace Prescription.

Henley Ellis and Jordan Murphy each doubled to lead Central Ohio Pressure Wash.

Danville Tire & Alignment 13, Holmes Tire 11

Danville Tire & Alignment rallied for six runs in the fifth and final inning to knock off Holmes Tire 13-11 on Saturday, May 8, at Memorial Park.

Madison Rezney, Kynlee Ferenbaugh, Karly Brewer and Peyton Bartok had three hits apiece to lead Danville Tire. Brewer doubled twice.

Khloee Sapp had three hits to pace Holmes Tire.

Jeld Wen 8, Alan’s Auto 6

Jeld Wen scored twice in the final inning to get by Alan’s Auto 8-6 on Saturday, May 8, at Memorial Park.

Jaylyn Riley and Tinley Boggs had four hits each to lead Jeld Wen.

Jaylynn Pauley belted out four hits for Alan’s Auto.
