MOUNT VERNON – Paul DeVore, husband, devoted father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, born October 1940, went to be with his Lord in his sleep on 1 March 2021.

High school athlete, truck driver, gas station owner, dry cleaner, deputy sheriff, facility maintainer, log splitter, jelly maker, walnut picker, deer hunter, churchgoer, gospel music lover; Paul had many occupations and pursuits.

“Paul is going to do what Paul wants to do,” his primary care physician is quoted as saying.

He is survived by his wife, Julia; his children, Richard, Rebecca, Robert and Reneé; sisters, Dorothy, Betty and Gladys; brother, Byron; numerous nieces and nephews; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Paul is also remembered by his church families at Covenant Church in Mount Vernon and Gospel Hill Ministry near Warsaw.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, Ralph and Mae; and siblings, Glenn, Maxine and Dale.

Paul’s family is spread from Ohio to Michigan, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina and Florida. He was a giver and was loved by many for that trait. He will be immensely missed, especially by those closest to him.
